MADDY THOMAS - OWNER AND HEAD Trainer

Maddy Thomas
Maddy Thomas with Azura, Brison, and Azani

Maddy Thomas (Schell) started training dogs when she was 7 years old. She loved training her first dog, Hunter, to do all kinds of tricks like finding help when someone was hurt, leaving treats balanced on paws and nose until released, and riding a scooter. When she was 8 years old she and Hunter began dog agility. They defied all the odds as she; a child, and her dog; a young beagle, began taking home the ribbons.

Around 10 years old she began walking the neighborhood dogs. Unlike other dog walkers she took up to 6 dogs at a time. Each dog was worked with and trained by her so that she could get more dogs. It was not uncommon to see a line of dogs in a sit stay waiting in the yard for Maddy to retrieve another dog for their walk. none of the dogs pulled her and most walked off leash beside her.

She moved to Oklahoma when she was 17 and quickly immersed herself in the dog community. She helped the animal shelter train and rehome dogs while finishing high school.

She graduated from Edmond Memorial in 2011. After a brief time working at GW Animal Exotics; went to work as a PetSmart dog trainer. She quickly became a top dog trainer aiding in the training of other trainers.  A year later she left PetSmart and soon after opened Azani Pro Training. She named Azani Pro after her beloved dog pictured on the right above.  Her classes were small to begin, but quickly grew into what Azani Pro Training is today.
